How can I be admitted to LGAR Health and Rehabilitation Center?
Contact our Director of Admissions at 412-825-9000. Your current medical records and health insurance will be reviewed and, if requesting permanent residency, financial options will be reviewed.
What does it cost to stay at LGAR?
Our daily rate for a semi-private room is $250.00 per day. Our daily rate for a private room is $265.00 per day.
The amount you are personally responsible for is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, any nursing home or health insurance coverage, deductibles or co-payments you may have and other charges such as hair salon services or television charges.
Can my physician take care of me at LGAR?
We have a staff of physicians affiliated with our facility. If your physician is not on our staff but would like to remain as your attending doctor, he or she can become credentialed to join our medical staff.
What do I bring for admission?
We suggest 5-7 days worth of wash and wear clothing, along with sturdy non-slip shoes. You may wish to bring some things to personalize your room. We are not responsible for valuables so suggest those be left in the care of family or friends. An inventory of your belongings is maintained so always let the staff know what clothing and personal items you have.
Can I leave the facility for a period of time?
Since you have medical needs that require a stay in a long term care facility, most insurances do not cover leaves from the facility. While residing with us, we are responsible to assure physician orders are followed and medical needs are monitored which cannot be done if away from the facility. Should an unusual circumstance occur, we will discuss a leave with the physician.
What are the visiting hours?
Family and friends can visit 24 hours per day. However, as a courtesy to those sharing rooms, personal care needs and rehabilitation schedules, most residents prefer visits between 10 am and 8 pm.
Can I visit in the rehabilitation department?
We are not able to welcome families or pets to visit in the rehab gym in respect of the privacy needs of all of our residents as they receive treatments. Our therapists will schedule phone or onsite meetings to discuss your progress with the resident and family.
Can children and pets visit?
Yes. Children must be supervised by an adult and should have no signs of infection such as cough, cold, rash or gastric upset.
Pets must have current proof of immunizations, be clean and in the company of an adult at all times. Proof of immunization must be on file in the administrative offices. The adult is responsible for any pet clean-ups. Pets are not permitted in any areas where meals are being served or in a double room if the room-mate is not comfortable with animals.
Can I keep food in my room?
Yes, non-perishable food may be kept in your room in sealed plastic containers that you bring from home. Perishable food may be kept in the refrigerator on the unit in a sealed container marked with your name and date. Any food not consumed within 2 days will be disposed of.
Is television and telephone service available?
Television service is available. LGAR provides the television and cable service and you are billed for a monthly rental fee.
If you want a telephone, you may make your own arrangements with Verizon to install and bill you. You may also use a personal cell phone for which you maintain complete ownership and responsibility. A telephone is also available for resident usage in our library.
Do you have computers available for resident use?
We have computers for games and word processing; internet access is not yet available.
Do you have parking?
Yes, we have plenty of free parking.
